Caring for someone who sees the world or do things differently from someone of their own age can be very difficult. Sometimes carers of young children might find themselves caring for more than one child with Autism. You may feel that you are alone and not getting the support or help that you need. You may even have managed to find the support and help but the cared for might not be willing to or struggles to engage or participate. This of course may put additional pressure on your family and makes it much harder for you.
Our Learning Difficulties (LD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Support Group run bi-monthly for Carers looking after someone with LD/ASD where you can speak to other carers in similar caring role. It is a chance for you to talk to others with similar experiences, platform to share tips and advice. We try to invite a guest speaker/s for our meetings and cover different age groups of people with LD and Autism where you can ask questions and get answers from the speaker/s.
