EyPIC Christmas Party 2022

After 2 years online due to the pandemic, the EyPIC Christmas Party was finally able to take place in person in 2022!

Santa and a Star Wars Stormtrooper made appearances, Christmas cards and other crafts were created, various games were played including ‘Stick the Nose on the Reindeer or Snowman’, musical statues, and parachute games, gifts were distributed in Santa’s Grotto, and many prizes were won!

The Young Carers (and staff!) had a fantastic time – they had the chance to have fun, make new friends, and have time away from their caring role and just be children for a while.

The EyPIC team would like to thank all those who donated gifts or helped to contribute to the party in some way, with a special mention to Donna from Aaron Black Funeral Directors and Fielder Environment and Geotechnics Ltd.

We would also like to thank our FABULOUS volunteers who gave their time to help us set up or help at the party, including Arthur, Heather, Lisa, Maureen K, Maureen T, Nicola, Phyl, Ros, Shelby, and Steve (who built the amazing grotto); and Graham and Kathy for organising the gifts the night before!

Another special mention goes to Rosemary Mann and all of the fabulous staff at Park Avenue, who made us feel incredibly welcome and went the extra mile to support us!

Also to all staff (Amy, Becky, Fiona, Lia, Mark, Nadine) who helped to make the party such a lovely night and a special mention to Carla for organising it all, with no team whatsoever.

One of the kids said “this is the best time I have had in a long time”.

Our own ’Santa’ was loved by the kids, too.
