Enfield Carers Centre has opened a new adult day care service in Queensway, Ponders End.

We are seeking experienced Support Workers as key members of our team.

Enfield Carers Centre, is a local charity providing holistic support to Carers across the borough with Home Care and Day Care as well as support to Carers.

Who Should Apply?

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm, engaging, safe space older /vulnerable adults
  • Provide compassionate person-centred care and support
  • Make a meaningful difference in the lives of those using the service
  • Work closely with carers, family members and clients to achieve stated outcomes
  • Assisting with low-level mobility (e.g. walking, gentle support, wheelchair assistance)
  • Facilitating or helping to deliver individual and group activities

Hours & Pay

Hours:    Part time (14 hours per week covering 9am – 5pm Thursday and Friday)

Holiday: 25 days and 8 Bank Holidays, per annum (pro rata)

Salary:    £26,936 per annum (pro rata)

Vision for Connections Daycare

Connections is a new community initiative from Enfield Carers Centre, launching January 2026 at Enfield Enterprise Centre.

It’s designed to reduce loneliness, promote wellbeing, and build a vibrant, inclusive space for social connection — especially for older adults, vulnerable adults and those with health conditions or who are isolated.

Background

Connections has been developed in response to increasing demand for inclusive, community-based services, particularly for older adults as well as offering respite for Carers and families. It complements Enfield Carers Centre’s existing Carer support services by offering a space for continued growth, social engagement and meaningful activity.

Services Offered

Connections will offer a range of activities and support, including:

  • Social gatherings and themed events
  • Creative workshops
  • Wellbeing activities such as mindfulness, relaxation, and gentle movement
  • Refreshments and hot meals
  • Transport

Staffing Structure

Connections is delivered by a dedicated and compassionate team:

  • Operations Manager
  • Daycare Coordinator
  • Daycare Support Workers × 3
  • Volunteers (including activity support, hospitality, and drivers)

The team works collaboratively to ensure a high quality, inclusive experience for all members.

Key staff responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement – Welcoming members, building relationships, and fostering a sense of belonging
  • Activity Coordination – Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive activities
  • Empowerment and Support – Encouraging members to lead sessions and contribute ideas
  • Safeguarding and Wellbeing – Ensuring a safe, respectful space for all participants
  • Collaboration – Working as a team to deliver excellent service and adapt to members’ needs

Staff and volunteers at Connections should demonstrate:

About Enfield Carers Centre

The organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and children and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
