Could you mentor a Young Carer?

Do you have two hours a week to spare?

Would you like to help  a Young Carer aged 12 – 18 to focus on and achieve some simple life goals?

We are looking for a number of reliable volunteers to work with some of our Young Carers aged 12 – 18 as one-to-one mentors.

Young Carers often feel isolated from their friends and peers and sometimes need someone to talk to. For a variety of reasons, some Young Carers have little or no parental guidance or may feel, due to their caring situation, they can’t ask for help or advice.

Our mentoring programme matches adults with Young Carers for a 12-week period.

They meet once a week to chat and identify goals that the Young Carer would like to achieve.  A goal could be like getting a part-time job or making more time to see friends.

Full training is given to all mentors and they’ll be supported at all times by ECC staff.

If you think you may be able to help, please contact the Centre for an application form on  info@enfieldcarers.org or call 020 8366 3677,
