Youth Alive is open

Youth Alive connects 10-19 year olds, living or studying anywhere in our Borough, with activities that will increase their engagement in physical activity, and social connection.

Youth Alive acts as an early intervention in a young person’s life to prevent contact with CAMHS and other statutory services.

Three Youth Champions with many years experience working with children and young people (from Chickenshed Theatre; Focus CIC; and Oasis Academy Hadley) are able to intervene early and maintain connection when children or young people show signs of needing support.

Anyone, including parents and the young people themselves, can contact Youth Alive.   The project has been commissioned by Enfield CCG and Enfield Council and is administered by Enfield Voluntary Action (EVA). See the EVA website for more information and the contact details to ask for a referral form from the EVA Project Manager.

If referred to a Youth Champion with Youth Alive:

  • The young person will be invited to meet with the Youth Champion to complete a needs assessment and pre-evaluation survey.
  • The Youth Champion will work with the young person to support access to non-school services / activities, aimed at embedding physical activity into their lives and enabling them to make positive new connections with other people.
  • The Youth Champion will regularly review progress made by the young person, and identify and agree if any further intervention becomes necessary – updating accordingly.
  • At the end, advise will be given, if (a) the young person is now successfully engaging in meaningful community-based activities (b) the young person requires further intervention from a different service or (c) there is no longer a need for intervention.
