Health Buddies – Support With Your Health Needs

What is a Health Buddy?

A Health Buddy is a member of staff or a volunteer assigned to you or the person you care for.  They’ll meet or speak with you/them on a regular basis to help to achieve some personal health and wellbeing goals.

These may include:

  • Finding an exercise class or activity
  • Providing healthy eating and diet information and helping to keep a food diary or to follow an eating plan
  • Helping to stop smoking, to make an appointment with the smoking cessation service at your GP’s
  • Providing training and information to help to manage a long-term health condition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, dementia etc.
  • Looking at general health lifestyle habits and where changes may be made to help prevent long term health conditions
  • Helping to manage medication
  • Providing information and advice about wellbeing services in the borough
  • Helping to identify triggers or signs of poor mental health and working on coping strategies

These are just some examples, talk to us and see if we can help!

How do I apply for a Health Buddy?

Contact us on 020 8366 3677 or email: wellbeing@enfieldcarers.org and we will do a short health assessment with you, to see if this service is right for you.

We will ask you a few health and lifestyle questions and, if you are eligible, we will work together with you to complete a short health plan.
