What is a Health Buddy?
A Health Buddy is a member of staff or a volunteer assigned to you or the person you care for. They’ll meet or speak with you/them on a regular basis to help to achieve some personal health and wellbeing goals.
These may include:

- Helping to stop smoking, to make an appointment with the smoking cessation service at your GP’s
- Providing training and information to help to manage a long-term health condition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, dementia etc.
- Looking at general health lifestyle habits and where changes may be made to help prevent long term health conditions
- Helping to manage medication
- Providing information and advice about wellbeing services in the borough
- Helping to identify triggers or signs of poor mental health and working on coping strategies
