Volunteer Roles
We have many interesting and challenging volunteering opportunities at Enfield Carers Centre.

PLEASE NOTE that some roles are subject to DBS checks and all will require candidates to complete an application form and give two references.

Volunteer benefits
At ECC we understand that volunteering needs to be a mutually beneficial arrangement so that you are gaining some benefit as well as us. We, therefore, strive to look after and support our volunteers as much as possible. Read on to find out more
At ECC we promise to support and train you in all the skills that you need for your volunteering role. Volunteering with ECC includes:
- Full induction and introduction
- Volunteer handbook
- On the job training and support
- Regular volunteer lunches and thank you social events
- A chance to feedback and be involved in the roles you are undertaking
- All travel and parking expenses covered
- Lunch provided if you work more than half a day
- A written reference for your next job or volunteer role (after three months of regular volunteering)
- An opportunity to upgrade and refresh your skills to enable you to return to work if you wish

Administrative & Office
We need confident, computer literate volunteers to help with our office admin.
The role will involve: telephone work; data input; filing; photocopying and helping with mail outs.
This is an ideal role for anybody looking to refresh or learn new office skills.
Volunteers would need to commit to a minimum of 1/2 day per week and will be given full training and support.

GP & Hospital Liaison
This important role is to raise the profile of Enfield Carers Centre by representing the Centre at GP Surgeries, health clinics and hospitals throughout the borough. You will talk to staff and patients and provide information leaflets raising awareness of carers issues and refer carers to the Carers centre.
Carers Ambassadors
Carers Ambassadors play a key role in the functioning of Enfield’s Carers Partnership Board bringing lived experience of health and care services. You will be a current or a previous carer for an individual who has accessed services within the local area and you will:
- work with us to articulate and test new initiatives and ideas,
- play a key role in helping us to communicate with carers
- act as a link to local communities
Mail Out Volunteers
The role will involve folding leaflets, stuffing envelopes and franking. We also need volunteers to help us to put our information packs together.
Volunteer Mentors for 12 – 18 year old Young Carers
The role will involve befriending a young person, staying in touch with them on a regular basis and encouraging them to stay engaged with support services.
The ideal candidate will either be young person themselves or have experience of working with this age group.
Reliability is essential and we do require a 4-6 month commitment .

Young Carers Project Volunteers
We are looking for energetic and reliable people to help us provide support and respite activities to our young carers aged 5 -18.
We also need volunteers with some admin skills to help with the daily running of the project with tasks.
Home Visits for Young Carers Volunteer
If you are a social work student or looking for a career working with vulnerable children, then this could be the role for you.
As part of our assessment of Young Carers who are referred to the Centre we like to undertake, whenever possible, home vists to assess the caring role and to meet the whole family to see how we can help.
