Even the most dedicated Carers sometimes long for some time for themselves, when they can stop, relax and think about themselves for a change, if only for a little while. Our “Time For A Break” scheme provides the opportunity for you to do just that.
An initial and fundamental way to help Carers is to have a Carers Assessment.
A Carers Assessment is an opportunity to discuss your caring role and how it affects your life and wellbeing, your health (physical and emotional), your feelings and choices about caring, work, study, training, leisure, relationships, social activities and your goals and planning for emergencies (such as Enfield’s Carer Emergency Card Scheme).

We offer a number of practical Health & Wellbeing workshops covering a variety of topics. See below for dates.

Social Activities
Fancy a break? A trip to the cinema? A night out at the theatre? A meal out? A massage?
We arrange a variety of breaks aimed at giving Carers a break from caring. These might include individual or group activities such as short breaks away (at home or abroad); days out; restaurants meals; trips to the cinema etc.
Most activities are just for Carers, so that you get a real break from caring, but occasionally we organise activities which are open to Carers and cared-for persons.
Our activities change all the time, so if you don’t see anything you like now, there might be something else that interests you in future. Make sure that you’re registered with the Centre and that way we can keep you updated, by post or email, with what’s happening.
We may also be able to help you to apply for a grant to have a break with or without your cared for person. Ask the support team for more information.
